MUST READ: Conspiracy of disconnect? PDF Print E-mail

I just wanted to share an idea as to how to keep all local groups unified while at the same time be able to explore nationwide activism for our specific causes.

A site which was inspired nearly one year ago has finally been built. It's sole mission was to allow folks from the entire Ron Paul grassroots movement along with other activist organizations to formulate within a centralized community for all. From these communities it is then possible for other site owners to develop specific grassroots ideology to expand their groups premise.

When we look at all of the well oiled machines of which many we diligently oppose we nevertheless find they all have one thing specifically in common that we currently do not, and that is "organization". From the top down all successful organizations must begin. Now many oppose this philosophy with the notion that it somehow can only be compared to evil.

After reading many posts that oppose this concept, I have to ask why are they so adamant about creating separatism. What is their angle? Surely they must know that disorganization cannot be good for any cause. So what is the motivation? Why are they so quick to create ideas with no substance or promote despair through confusion? Is it possible that we have been infiltrated by those paid to create separatism? Or is it possible there is something even more sinister at work; a Conspiracy of disconnect?

I cannot say what this all about with any hard facts. I only ask you to use your minds now and ask if you are being misled into havoc. Does it make more since to start at one point and work outward or to start from many ports and try to succeed? And more importantly does it make since to organize nationally now within a base already created or to continue to listen to those who seem to only add unnecessary complexity to the movement causing folks to drop like flies in total hopelessness?

The RonpaulLive site has no hidden agenda. It is out in the open and the philosophy is very simple. Become a member, encourage your members and other groups diligently to join. Then create groups based upon your specific cause, whatever it may be. Then have your members and other members of the site to join that group. If you have a site already being built to facilitate this cause, that's excellent, and exactly what we want to accomplish. Now simply add the rplAlliance (learn about the rplAlliance here) emblem to your site showing your support for the community and invite folks from within your group(s) to participate in your cause.

Through the community coupled with satellite sites such as yours, we are able to expand outward but always from a well oiled organizational foundation.

You see the entire premise behind RonPaulLive is to create a community-based site with many branches in which we can all climb out onto for our specific causes. This is how it has been done since the beginning of time within all successful organizations, both corporate, private and government. Though many of us would like to think that we can successfully follow activism without a foundation I can assure you that it is doomed for failure.

So now the question which begs answering is what is your desire and how will you handle objections meant to thwart organization? Here is a simple answer in the form of a question: Why do you appose the idea of us all gathering at one central location and then creating our branches outward? Do you fear that we may become organized?

My sincere thanks for your time.

Please join with me now before we have nothing left of the grassroots activism we have all become inspired to be apart.

Please add your comments and then forward to your group and beyond:

I'm in 100% agreement with you about too much scattering with all the new groups coming online.  I have seen at least 15 of them pop up in the last couple of weeks.  We have seen this before, and most failed.  The ones that do attract members are the ones we should support - but it's a bit early to determine that.  The other concern is that sometimes these groups come into existence and don't cooperate with anyone - so act like a black hole for all that join, from the perspective of the rest of the movement.

I also agree with you on the importance of name recognition.  Aside from what Ron's name tells us about a group, there is the issue of find-ability.  By adopting all these different names, not only are we becoming invisible to those that might go looking to join us, but to ourselves.  We don't know all the Ron Paul groups and resources out there now - everyone changing their names to something different would make locating and identifying each other simply impossible.

And I also think about the fact that the name Ron Paul is synonymous with non-violence, with true liberty, with  integrity, Gandhi's son still uses the name Gandhi on a website--people still resonate with Gandhi even though he is dead. We have monuments to such brave souls as Washington and Jefferson--their names live on as symbols of what they stood for. Is it possible that now, with the age of the internet and things happening so fast, Ron Paul does not have to die in order to be legend. That his name can be used as a kind of rallying point--even though we are all called to be leaders and do those things that we are called to do in the name of freedom.

Garry,

You have my support. I'll call you this weekend.

No matter what we do overall, we have to remain together or we will crumble. I agree we need to start with a solid foundation synonymous with Ron Paul.

Totally agree, something is wrong here with all the confusion. I am in and we are all very excited.

After reading your email, I was floored. That is exactly what I had been feeling but could not see beyond the haze. I am onboard. I am also building a site to help stop the National ID. The entire premise of expanding from a base makes tons more since than to scramble all over the net.

Agreed! Bridging our local and national efforts with a single foundation then building outward is the correct way to do it. That is what many of us began doing through Meetup but with all the confusion, many have lost their way. If we build up one foundation even while we expand our own sites, through the use of the
rplAlliance emblem, people will find the their way back. Plus working with the continued use of Ron Paul works. People already know what Ron Paul stands for.

Thanks for opening the comments Bozer. I welcome a debate. You are against an attempt to create a home (much like our cursory attempts at meetup-though very limited in cross communications amongst groups). Please provide links to grassroots organizations that have withstood the test of time that have impacted change and are not in anyway a top down. Let us study them and then perhaps we can move forward quickly with a workable plan to motivate the grassroots to continue our efforts.

I do not agree with the premise that a top down hierarchy is the only way to be successful. Rejecting that paradigm can hardly be called choosing to disconnect. Imposing a conventional top-down structure on a movement that is based upon the sovereign individual mind, will kill that movement. That sounds more like a conspiracy to me.
